Mining-metallurgical Institute of Tajikistan is located in the heart of the industrial city of Chkalovsk, which has begun to operate the first-born of the nuclear industry of the USSR Mining and Chemical Combine in 1945, and covers an area of 6.1 hectares. It has an educational building, educational support facilities, workshops. The Institute is a multidisciplinary higher technical educational institution and its activities take place on the basis of normative and legal documents regulating the sector of higher education.
Training – laboratory facilities of the Institute includes 40 laboratories and classrooms, mechanical, locksmith and car repair, educational workshops, training area for mining machinery and equipment, industrial workshops and sports town. The Institute’s library is available on the third floor of the academic building and occupies approximately 500 m2, there is a reading room area of 128 m2 library book fund, taking into account the electronic versions, it consists of 205 thousand books.
In the Institute study conducted in two languages: Russian and Tajik.
Admission is carried in 16 specialties, mainly specializing in the development, processing and exploitation of mineral deposits, metallurgy, mechanical engineering and mining.
The main specialty of the Institute: – Geology and exploration of mineral deposits; Surveying; Underground mining of mineral deposits; mining and underground construction; open pit mining; enrichment of minerals; Metallurgy of precious and rare metals; Environmental Engineering; development and exploitation of oil and gas fields; mechanical engineering technology; power supply; organization and management of transport; economics and management, etc.
About 3,000 students are enrolled in the institute. They are taught by more than 160 teachers, including 5 doctors, professors and 36 associate professors, including 4 members of industry and international scientific academies. Currently, the Institute has three departments – “Mining”, “Energomehanika”, “Metallurgy” and fifteen departments, including – “Metallurgy”, “Ecology”, “Oil and Gas Business”, “Mining”, ” electricity “,” Technology of mechanical engineering and equipment “,” Economics and management “,” Mechanics “and others.
Since 2009, the Institute implemented a system of distance education, the program “double degree” from the Tyumen State Oil and Gas University, which allows students to our university, receive an additional diploma of higher education of the Russian technical university. Institute scientists conducted extensive research, taking into account the real needs of the various sectors of the country.
In order to establish a mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of higher education, training of the teaching staff, the effectiveness of teaching and research work of the Institute signed a contract with the relevant institutions and organizations in countries such as: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Norway , Portugal, Germany, Slovakia. The Institute takes part in several international educational, scientific and research projects, such as:
– “Assessment of transboundary water pollution in Central Asia” (on the example of the Syr Darya River Basin waters) NATO grant (the SFP) – “Science for Peace”. The project at the institute, a modern analytical laboratory is equipped with the unique equipment.
– “WaterHarmony,” according to the program “Norway – Eurasia” is funded by the Government of Norway.
– “Tempus” – “Improving the quality of engineering education in Central Asia.”
International activity allows faculty and students of the Institute to improve their skills on the basis of the experience of foreign countries.
In the structure of the Institute acts: the Confucius Institute and the Mining College named after S. Yusupova.
The Institute has an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation with many enterprises of mining and metallurgical industry of Sughd region.
The Institute has a comfortable hostel for students, there are gym, playgrounds for football, volleyball, tennis and gymnastics. Currently, training and fitness base on the shore of the sea Kairakkum Under construction.

Razykov Zafar Abdukahorovich, Professor in the department of “Ecology” at the Mining and Metallurgical Institute of Tajikistan (since 2007). He worked in the position of Vice-Rector for Science and International relations at the same Institute from 2007 to 2016.
Razykov Z. A. began his career in 1969 as an assistant master in drilling of oil and gas fields in the Russian Federation. After graduating from the Moscow Institute of Petrochemical and Gas Industry named after academician I.M.Gubkin, from 1973 to 1977 he worked in the All-Union industrial association “Tyumengazprom” of Ministry of Gas Industry of the USSR as a gas production operator, then an engineer of operational and production department of association “Nadymgazprom”, Tyumen Region.
From 1977 to 1978 he worked as a technologist for oil production in the oil and gas management of Nefteabad in production association “Tadzhikneft” USSR Ministry of Oil Industry, 1978-79 the Head of the Department of Capital Construction of the production association “Tadzhikneft”, 1979 to 1982, the Deputy of General Director of the production association “Tadzhikneft”, in1982-1987 the first Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Tajik SSR for Supervision of safety in industry and mining, in 1987-1988 worked as the deputy head of the department of industry of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Tajikistan, in1988-1991 was elected as the second secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of Tajikistan in Chkalovsk, in 1991-1995 the Head of department on protection of the environment, the First Deputy – chief engineer of the production association “Vostokredmet”, in1995 the Deputy Chairman of the Leninabad region, in 1995-1997 the first Deputy of General Director of “Vostokredmet”,in 1997-2007 the General Director of production association “Vostokredmet”.
In 2004, he obtained a doctorate in technical sciences, the author of over 130 scientific and methodical works.
Razykov Z.A. has participated in several international conferences and symposia (Vienna 1988, Almaty 2000, Chusovoi 2002, Washington 2004, Kairakkum 2005, Bishkek, 2011, Florence – 2013).
In 1992 graduated with honors from the Russian Academy of Management.
In 1995-2000 the Deputy of the Regional Council, in 2000-2005 member of the MajlisiMilli of MajlisiOli of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Co-director of “Syrdarya” project, “Assessment of trans boundary water pollution in Central Asia” at the program “Science for Peace”. In addition, he is the coordinator of international projects: QUEECA – Quality of engineering education of Central Asia – TEMPUS, EU, Water Harmony – Eurasia Program, Norway.
RazykovZ.A was elected as an academician of the Engineering Academy of the Republic of Tajikistan, and in 1999 awarded the degree of Doctor of Science University of Delaware business and politics (USA), he is an international expert of the Association of Engineering Education of Russia (AEER).
Main directions scientific and production activities: hydrometallurgy, the issues of enrichment and processing of minerals, water problems, ecology. Author of several books:

Yunusov Muzafar Mamadzhanovich – Doctor of Chemistry, professor, academician of the Engineering Academy of the Republic of Tajikistan. The best Inventor of the Republic of Tajikistan (1997). The winner of the gold and bronze medals ENEA USSR. He has published over 250 scientific papers in leading scientific publications, including 10 copyright certificates of the USSR.
From 1967 to 1972 he studied at the Faculty of Chemistry at the Tajik State University named after V.I. Lenin at Leningrad State University and Academy of Science named after A. A. Zhdanov (1971-1972.) where he received Chemist specialty. From 1972 till 1974 he worked at the Department of Physical and Colloid Chemistry TSU as intern researcher.
In 1974 he entered to graduate school of the Institute of Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Tajik SSR, and was sent to Moscow to the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR named after N.S.Kurnakova for performing the thesis. In 1978, in the same place, he defended his thesis on the specialty 02.00.04. – physical chemistry. After, up to 1980 he worked as a junior research fellow at the Institute of Chemistry named after V.I. Nikitina in Tajik Academy of Sciences.
In 1980 he was sent as a junior researcher in the structure of the scientific center of the Leninabad region. In the structure of the Scientific Center he served as a senior, leading and chief scientific officer. Since 1993, the Head of the Laboratory “Analytical Chemistry and Inorganic Materials” of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan.
In September 1994 Yunusov M.M defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of chemical sciences, specialty 02.00.01. – “Inorganic chemistry” and in 1997 he was appointed the Deputy of General Director of the State Enterprise “Vostokredmet” Science.
Yunusov M.M combines scientific and industrial activity with teaching. Since 1982 he conducted classes in inorganic chemistry and chemical engineering at Khujand State University named after academician B. Gafurov.
Yunusov M.M. wrote a number of textbooks for students and professionals. Under his leadership, successfully defended several theses for the degree of candidate and doctor of sciences. During the period of work he has published more than 250 scientific articles and abstracts. He is a participant and organizer of a number of international symposia, conferences and seminars. The results of his research were published in scientific journals of the CIS countries, as well as in India (1980.), Pakistan (1993-2001gg.), Jordan (1994). Malaysia (1997). US (California, San Francisco, 2001), Canada (Toronto, Ontario, 2002.) and South Africa (Pretoria, 2001). Germany (Kalsrue 2006.2012), Slovenia (2008), Austria 2009 (Vienna, the IAEA report). Norway (Oslo, 2013)
During the period of employment (since 1997) under the supervision of M. Yunusov studied the relationship of mass transport tailings to the environment, to predict the spread of radioactive and toxic elements in the environment, and develop methods for their disposal in terms Tadzhikistan. Yunusov M.M. carries out scientific-methodical management development related to monitoring the organization of the content of radionuclides in the soil, in the air and in the waters of rivers and water sources of the Ferghana Valley and ascertain their origin.
Yunusov M.M works closely with industrial enterprises of Sogd region. The scientific results of Yunusov M.M. implemented in industrial enterprises in Tajikistan. Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation Ministry of Education in 2006 assigned Yunusov Muzafar Mamadzhanovich academic rank of professor in the specialty “Inorganic Chemistry” – 02.00.01.

In 2011 graduated from Mining and Metallurgical Institute of Tajikistan in “Open pit mining.” He took part in the international project “Assessment of transboundary water pollution in Central Asia” program Science for Peace. He was trained in international ecological laboratory «Stewart Assay and Environmental Laboratories» and received a certificate of successful completion of the course. He participated in international conferences and seminars (Bishkek, 2012, 2015, Shymkent, 2013). Research interests: heavy metals in natural waters.
